"The Window viewer illness"

In the left thigh there is no artery shown by the contrast fluid. But the thigh has more small bloodvessels than the right thigh. The left artery is blocked almost from the knee to the upper thigh and there is more small vessels in the thigh made to compensate the lack of blood. When walking the need for oxygen increases and then there is not enough capasity to fill the need. The result is a pain in the calf and a "lazy" foot. When stopping the pain will gradually go away. To stop and watch a window excebition is then somthing a person in this situation will do frequently.

Magnetic Resonanse Imaging (MRI) is a methode to get a view of the inner part of a body without using X-rays. When a patient is exposed to radio waves in a magnetic field electromagnetic energy is freed and can be measured and analysed. The result is a threedimentional picture of the sotfter parts of the body.

MR Angiograpy (MRA) is a MRI of the bloodvessels in the body. By using a contrast fluid an unusual good picture is produced of the bloodvessel structure. You may then study them closer to discover abnormalities like aneurysm, occlusion and thight parts. The procedyre is painless and does not harm the body in any way.
